Toddlers learning to count
Learning numbers and maths has a way of striking fear with us adults, but it rules our lives from the very beginning. It is therefore safe to say, it’s never too early to start learning it. Little Champions Nursery in Dubai follows the statutory UK preschool framework; Early Years Foundation Stage, which is a guidance framework developed to help children excel in their understanding of the world and learning to count and recognize numbers.
As long as you are old enough to speak, and ask for certain things, you are old enough want to know your numbers. If you want to have two cookies, you’re going to need to know how to count. Little children are surrounded by the numbers game, “How many siblings do you have?”, “How old are you?”, “How many friends do you have?”, and it won’t hurt to memorize the emergency number either. When teaching children to understand the concept of numbers and what they mean, and how to successfully recognize more numbers as they grow older, your lesson plan has to be creative and fun, so that the children will enjoy learning and succeed in their endeavours. Toddlers in a good day care in Dubai and preschoolers are not pressured into passing exams with numbers, but the concept is taught to them systematically throughout their preschool years to help them know the basics and prepare them for junior school. .
We use fun activities and engaging strategies to help children learn to count first and then recognize numbers later. One of the first skills that a child develops is sound and speech, recognizing shapes and colours comes a lot later in development and we therefore follow this idea when planning out lessons with numerals.
It’s not absolutely necessary that toddlers are thought to count, but the fact is they already are busy counters. They are associating numbers with objects. As infants, they are actually able to differentiate groups of different number of objects. For instance they will know the difference between 2 apples and 20 apples, they won’t necessarily understand how many there are, but they do know that one pile has fewer than the other.
As care givers and educators, it is our job to pick up on this need to understand the world and help piece it together for them. Children are like little scientists discovering the world trying to make sense of their environment. As soon as they start speaking they are going to want to start counting. In fact, your toddler will be voluntarily more attentive to new information while at day care than they will be after the age of 5. This is because toddlers and little children below 5 are eager to catch up to us. They notice that we know a lot more than they do, and can do more things than they can, so they are generally more attentive to new information. Of course junior school can be long and boring and coincidently that’s when they stop being so attentive.
There is literally countless number of creative ways to teach your toddler to count. Little Champions utilizes the guidelines set forth by the EYFS framework to ensure that children remain engaged and interested in learning to count.
One thing though that we have to keep in mind, is that mathematics is not a physically recognizable attribute of any object. If you placed two biscuits in both his hands, to your toddler they are separate objects. He will immediately notice the physical characteristics of the two biscuits, and he will know that both his hands are holding things that he can eat, but “two” is not something he recognizes yet. To teach him his “ones and twos”, we will need show him how these two numbers are differentiated with numerous other objects as well. When you associate the first two numbers to other things that he recognizes, he will pick up the count soon enough.
Little Champions Nursery encompasses and touches on all the developmental phases of children, to include language and communication, social understanding, environmental recognition, physical and motor development and numbers too. Our care givers are passionate educators who aim to deliver information in the most ingenious ways to keep your toddler developing eagerly.

Learning with Music and Song
Little Champions Nursery uses creative and known methods to teach language to young children. An effective way is to use song and dance. Children love to sing, and by singing and following the words, they are able to sharpen their vocal skills, as well as language and pronunciation.
Music is a productive tool for teaching language to young children in our Dubai nursery. Catchy songs will stick around long after the lesson is over in a child’s mind. Toddlers pick up vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language rhythm by singing along to their favorite songs, an activity most children love to do all the time. Music is also a great mood changer, a good distraction for children at home, in the classroom, and in the car. Children respond well to music, and although they are young, they have already developed strong taste in music, and will tell you when they like a song and when they don’t.
From nursery rhymes to children songs, and even some child friendly adult songs, music in general attracts a child’s attention a lot longer than language lessons that are not centered around music. As teachers we notice that children react to songs they like, much more attentively than they would to anything else. Making sure that the lyrics are simple and prompting gestures, children will learn the lyrics, understand it, and improve on vocabulary.
A nursery environment is just not the same without music. Little Champions Nursery integrates music and singing to teach colours, numbers and counting, names of animals and flowers, and even social etiquette. Song encourages nursery children to follow on, and the children generally like to boast about their ability to sing the whole song. Eventually they pick up everything they need to know about their world.
Songs can be used to teach various languages as well, which enhances the learning experiences. There are literally millions of songs for children that cover everything that young learners need to know. For instance when teaching colours, a song with lyrics: “I see something blue”, will have your tots repeating after the teacher, and running towards something blue in their classroom. This particular sing-a-long activity will show a classroom of children all the things that are blue, and it won’t be long before a classroom full of three year olds, can identify the twelve basic colours they find in their colour boxes.
The great thing about using music in a classroom, is that is influences the shy children to take part in some way. Sing-a-long activities help children come out of their shell, as they realize that nobody is out to judge them, and they are eventually competing to sing louder and longer.
We love to use songs and music to help children gain higher confidence, improve their social interaction with each other, and sharpen their communication skills. Little Champions Nursery is founded on the principle that children should have fun while learning, whilst they effectively absorb and retain the information they learn.

Getting my Toddler to Talk
Many parents are always concerned when their toddler doesn’t start talking at the same time as their neighbour’s child did, or when they are told it should happen. Children can start talking as early as eleven months and speech can be delayed till their second birthday or beyond. Many factors influence speech in children; siblings, learning resources, interaction between parents, other children, and most importantly the need to talk.
When you have conversations in front of your toddler he is observing your mouth, learning the sounds, and watching for actions that proceed the word. If you said “Mama” and pointed to yourself while picking him up, he is understanding that you are called Mama. You can do the same to his dad, and eventually, your toddler will link you with the word “mama” and his dad with the word “dada”.
Speech training your toddler comes naturally to parents, and this attempt will eventually have your toddler saying his first words. Toddlers are like blank canvases who are ready to have information painted on. The more pictures and sounds you paint, the faster they associate speech with objects and actions.
Toddlers as young as 7 months are already having conversations, in baby language. While listening to you talk, although he has no idea what those sounds mean, or why they are uttered, he is training his vocal cords to make those sounds in the way he’s heard it. Of course, as adults, you will not understand his language, until he reaches about 24 months. Yes it does take that long for a toddler to use two or three words in a complete sentence.
The main factor that will help your child’s speech is the need to talk. If you tended to him, as soon as he made a hum, or cried and went through his basic needs, his speech will be delayed. The need to communication should be made clear to your toddler so they have a reason to talk.
For instance, if your toddler was sitting on the floor playing, and you picked him immediately, he wouldn’t need to tell you to pick him up. However, if you saw your toddler about to ask for something, let him complete his request verbally to you. You can help him along, by saying “up” and then reaching your hands out to him, he will follow suit by saying “up” and reaching his hands out to you. Additionally, in this situation, if he does not want to be picked up, he might be trying to ask you for something else, go through the general check list with him. May be he wants his favourite toy, may be he’s hungry, or needs a change, sit by him on the floor if possible, and go through the check list with him. A young toddler will not repeat the words after you, but he will certainly let you know what he wants using body language.
Getting your toddler to speak, is an exciting journey that should be done without showing him you’re stressed or frustrated. Sometimes toddlers begin talking early, and sometimes they may delay their speech.
Little Champions is a Nursery and Day care in Dubai that works closely with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) UK to help children develop speech and language skills effectively while in our care. We maintain a close working relationship with EYFS UK foundation to ensure that your precious child has access to the latest tools and resources set forth by EYFS nursery protocol.

British Preschool in Dubai
Little Champions Nursery is a British preschool in Dubai, that is determined to provide children from different cultures a solid foundation to learn and grow confidently. Our approach is to maximize resources and respect children in every step they make in learning to communicate. Our Dubai Nursery and day care see children from the age of six months to five years of age. We work hand-in-hand with parents to secure every child’s future and communication skills.
Many children who attend our day care and nursery Dubai come from varied backgrounds, where English may not be the first language spoken at home. We try to create a neutral ground, where babies, toddlers, and children feel at home, with other children. A big part in learning the English language is to feel comfortable doing so. This is a very important aspect for children who are leaving home for the first time. Our teachers try to foster children into the idea of communicating in both their native language as well as in English.
As adults learning a second language, it is much, as we already know and understand the principle of communicating with words, therefore understanding words of a second language comes naturally. Children on the other hand are still building their reference points for each emotion, need and idea. Children learn to communicate by being in a Language-rich environment, where they are able to piece together a word with an action or thing. Regularly visiting the same words and being able to put it into context, guides them into using words to communicate effectively at home and at play schools in Dubai.
There are times when talking to children is difficult. We are all too familiar with having to repeat the same things over and over again. They may ignore you, or not respond to what you ask. Many children do talk naturally, but in the case of many, they first need to feel secure to communicate their thoughts and respond to you as well. A child will only feel secure, if they feel important enough to the communicator. Individual attention provided at our preschool Dubai, fosters personal respect, which in turn promotes communication.
A child’s language only improves by hearing it correctly being used by adults. They will imitate and learn the use of each word in a sentence. “I want to go to the toilet” is a complex sentence that three year olds will reach, but the same request is said very differently when they are 18 months or older. They may just say “toilet”, or “I toilet”. They will learn to lengthen this command gradually if they are corrected and helped along each time.
Our day care program and nursery provides the right and secure environment for children to thrive in communication. Whether English is your child’s first language or second, the care givers at Little Champions Nursery aim to give each child individual attention to help them communicate effectively.

Dubai's Most Popular Nursery and Day Care
Little Champions Nursery has been proudly
helping young Dubai families by providing a safe space for children to learn,
develop, and have fun at throughout the year, whilst growing up in Dubai. Our
day care and preschool nursery is considered to be a Junior Ivy League Nursery Dubai that provides Dubai children
the highest standard in preschool education. We follow the Early Years
Foundation Stage nursery protocol, which is a UK developed early education
syllabus guideline. Our children are not given high expectations to achieve or
reach specific goals, but we encourage each child to achieve personal growth in
every developmental aspect set forth by EYFS.
Little Champions Primary Nursery Dubai accepts babies, toddlers, and children up to the age of five. We maintain small group classes, to give each child the right attention, but still allow them room to grow in a social setting. Our aim is build minds, and expand your child’s young horizons, teaching her the love of discovery and exploration.
EYFS is an excellent set of guidelines as it considers success to be a child’s want, and pushes a young toddler’s curiosity on a path to learn, rather than stipulate a set of rules, which children do not adapt well to. Young children learn by using the five senses to piece together the information they learn in the first 5 years of life. Children are inclined to touch, taste, examine by looking, listen, and smell every object they come across. The information they receive and understand through the senses, they eventually store for later reference. You may have actually seen your four-year-old do this in front of you before. There would have been many instances, where your child, asked you what something was, whiling touching the object, eventually trying to smell, taste, and listen for sounds that object might make. This is your toddler’s way of deciphering the world he is coming to discover and all that belongs to it.
EYFS makes recommendations around this early learner’s behavioral pattern, to cover all developmental aspects such as mental, social, emotional, intellectual, physical, personal, and biological. EYFS requires that every child is healthy, safe, fed a well-balanced nutritious diet, allowed freedom and space to play freely, and provided with the right motivation and resources to excel from all angles. It promotes the idea that parents and teachers should act as one unit in order to present children with a stable atmosphere in which both home and school remain in coherence with each other, thereby not to confuse the child with contradictory information and learning.
As a Child Care Nursery Dubai we understand our responsibility is to care for your child first, and then to provide her with the right environment, supervised by professionally trained child care experts, and give her the guidance she needs to flourish in her little world. We at Little Champions Nursery aim to be Dubai’s most exceptional Nursery Provider of the Year, staying at the forefront to become a high quality early learner’s education facility for children.

Early Years Foundation Stage is an education system developed for Early Years learning in the UK. It takes every aspect of children’s early years needs into consideration, formulating a guideline that is easily followed globally. Accommodating cultural differences, language barriers, and other difficulties that might usually be seen in a multicultural classroom of toddlers, EYFS makes recommendations to help individual children attain certain goals, but does not push to reach these goals at the same time or pace. EYFS understands that each child comes with their individual character, and we therefore allow every student the autonomy to be themselves while they begin their long journey through the educational years.
Little Champions Nursery believes in providing children with all the resources that they would need to develop skills and reach milestones. We maintain a free-to-use atmosphere, allowing children to use and interact with the countless learning tools that we provide. Little Champions Nursery is specifically designed to accommodate small children, taking into account their safety and comfort. The building and furniture aims to accommodate children’s restrictive reach, supported by friendly, professional, and compassionate teachers and supporting staff.
By following the EYFS system, we have done away with most exercises of writing and mundane work that young children find boring, and usually learn nothing of. Instead we use practical lessons which engage child voluntarily to learn and understand every subject. Our teachers are active and vibrant, bringing together energy and the right motivation for children below five years of age.
Our main goal is to ensure that children enjoy being at children’s nurseries Dubai, and feel at home when they enter Little Champions Nursery. We have an open door policy for parents to visit and spend time with their child observing them and taking part in special events through our Little Champions Community club. This club aims to include parents in certain aspects outdoors and in the school itself, giving whole families a place to meet and support each other in a community atmosphere.
Little Champions Nursery is proud to have been the stepping stone for many children who are now successful student learners in senior schools around Dubai and globally. Our aim is to cultivate a global culture accommodating all children and their versatile backgrounds. If you are looking for an open culture to place your precious little child at, visit Little Champions Nursery, get to know the teachers, and let your toddler mingle and make friends before you decide which of the nurseries in UAE will best suit your child and your values.

Flexible Day Care in Dubai
When you’re a parent of a toddler, it is hard to know, which expert facts are right, and which ones are blown out of proportion. If you’re a stay-at-home-mom, then making a choice between caring for your child at home or sending her to childcare is a decision that may be weighing down on you. If you feel, you’d like to spend time with her at home, it gives you the opportunity to spend quality time with her, bond and make memories, sending her to nursery will mean she will have other children to play with, she will make new friends and have access to a variety of learning activities and resources.
If your child is around two years old, and you are able to care for her fulltime, you may want to consider sending her to nursery for a two or three days of the week, and leave her at home for the remainder of the days, which will allow you and her to have the best of both worlds.
What are the benefits of sending your child to a Good Dubai Nursery?
When your child is developing at home, she is restricted with instances where she can relate to other children and also develop her own personality. Many children who are in nursery are able to shine in many ways than would otherwise be possible at home with a nanny or a parent. When the child is at home, they are the centre of your attention. This means she will have limited opportunities display her own character. Every day at our Dubai nursery we see young children taking the lead in situations, allowing their personalities to shine through. For instance if they are meant to colour the sun yellow, and another child has lost his yellow crayon, some children willingly offer to share their crayon or help to look for one. A few young children want to be detectives, and will often ask a lot of questions to help them locate the missing crayon. Additionally, you may find a few children offering to console the child whose crayon is missing.
Every day we see young shy children attempting to fit into groups, and other children attempting to make friends with the quiet child in the corner, improving their confidence and strengthening their emotional wellbeing.
Additionally, the children have their meals together sitting on a table, having discussions amongst themselves about the food they bring from home and general small talk. At home, the tradition might be to let them be distracted with the television, while you feed them and chat to them. In these two very different situations, your little one, is spending quality time with you, feeling loved, knowing that she is the centre of your world. At school, she is understanding culture, learning about different types of foods, and sharpening her table manners.
Caring for your child at home and sending her to nursery school provides a balanced environment where she can thrive in a group of children and establish herself with her family. Little Champions Nursery is day care and nursery school in Dubai that provides your child with the necessary environment, the right resources and activities to give her a platform to shine in. Our diversified mix of nationalities further lets your child mingle and learn about other cultures early on. Our flexible weekly schedule lets you plan your child’s week to give her time at home with you, as well as time at nursery.

Dealing with toddler eating Habits
This is every parent’s worst nightmare. Your baby is now a toddler with arm strength and the ability to bring the house down if things don’t go their way. You have them home for the holidays for preschool/daycare break and there is nothing you can do to get them to finish their vegetables. All that’s happening is that you are cleaning gunk off the carpet and walking around with a mop in your hand during dinner time.
Toddlers are learning to make decision and form impressions on things around them, and their impression of vegetables is one they expect you accept. Times are changing, now that they can speak and run, they will do both, if they are forced to eat anything they don’t like.
One factor that is most obvious about kids that we sometimes miss in our worry is they actually do not need as much food as we do. So a hand sized serving of anything would be sufficient to keep them healthy and active.
From birth to about two years of age, your toddler would have tripled her size, but after that her growth spurt slows down. They will gradually grow taller, growing stronger bones and muscles as the years progress. Therefore for nursery children a few small snacks throughout the day will be sufficient to provide them with the nourishment their bodies need.
As family, it might be tradition to sit down to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner by the table, serving portions of food on a single plate and completing it in one sitting. Children may actually be struggling with this concept of three meals a day. If you find that she barely finishes her meals, this means she is listening to her own body, and therefore only opting to eat what she is hungry for. In doing this, she may also need more food sooner than others. You may have to now be creative, and postpone good eating habits for a few more years.
If your toddler struggles to eat three meals a day, break her meals down to 6 servings. Have her favourite munchies available within reach throughout the day. Instead of serving her a complete meal, in a compartmentalized container, you can add bite sized pieces of fruit, chicken drumlets, or a cutlet of meats and vegetables which she can nibble on throughout the day. Day Care and preschool children are naturally inclined to know when they are hungry, and will generally help themselves to food when they are feel they need it.
For two years olds, making them eat all their fruits and vegetables, might have you playing games with their food, but you may have to, to get them interested in eating. You can start by naming the pieces of fruit and vegetables, calling carrots tiny swords, or slices of apple half moons, you can name the grapes power balls. Kids love games, and you can even use her cooking and dinner sets to serve them especially for her. Pretend games, creative names, and few creative recipes will have your toddler growing strong and healthy without a problem. The trick to winning this fight over food and feeding a toddler is to not worry, and let your preschooler tell you when he’s hungry. As your child grows, she will need bigger portions, have less time to run around and will soon enough be sitting with the family for dinner.

Healthy Children
Parents are often left wondering around in stress and worry when their preschooler falls ill or is unable to take part in nursery activities like usual. Falling ill is part of growing up, and falling sick is a sign that their immune systems are working and developing correctly.
When a child falls ill, their bodies are building vital antibodies, which will stay with them for life.
The development of their immune systems will mean a better life as they get older and will form a resistance to many strains of the common colds and flues.
Little Champions Nursery Dubai is built on principle of maintaining a highly clean and hygienic environment in which children can thrive in. Despite our efforts sometimes children will still fall sick, catch a cold or become injured. Whether at home or our Dubai day care sticking to a good routine every day will help them stay fit, and enjoy their time in Dubai Montessori.
Here are some tips you can follow at home to keep your toddler happy, healthy, and active
Nutrition
Giving your child a well balanced diet is certainly the first defence to illness. A well-nourished child will still fall ill, but they are fast to recover. Fruits for snacks, juices and water to quench thirst, will take your child a long way.
Sleep
Let your child get lots of sleep. Sleep helps the body rejuvenate, clear it of toxins and germs, while boosting immunity, and restoring lost energy. Many child psychologists say that children who attend nursery require at least about ten hours of sleep. The result of a lack of sleep makes them cranky, play around with their moods and they may also lose the ability to concentrate effectively on a single subject for too long.
Plenty of Exercise
Just like adults, children too need plenty of activity and physical exercise. Let your child play outside or take them to the park where they can run around freely. You can even enrol them in a swimming lesson, karate lesson or something that requires them to be active. Physical activity helps build strong bone and muscles and is essential to staying healthy.
Keep him away from smokers
If you or someone in the family is a smoker, make sure they do not smoke in front of young children, aside from possibly influencing them with a bad habit, secondary smoke can greatly affect a young child’s still developing lungs. Children who are already diagnosed with asthma, or have breathing trouble will see a negative effect from secondary smoke.
Limit television, games, and the internet
Regardless of how small your child is, they are fast learners, and one try on the family computer, or gaming console and you may find that your three year old is hooked on it. If you feel your child may be becoming dependant on an adult phone, gaming console or the television to be entertained, take them outside or let them play outdoors. Staying in one place for too long, can cause weight issues, affect their blood sugar, and impact their social skills greatly.
Give him Variety in Food
Try not to stick to one type of food every day. A rotational menu gives your child and your entire family the benefit of a well-rounded diet.
Supplement nutrients when necessary
If your toddler is lactose intolerant, they will need a calcium supplement to help with bone development. Iron, which is important for muscle development and to carry oxygen to the rest of the body should be supplemented on advice of his paediatrician.
Let Children be Children
Let children be children. As much as you may worry about the injury that may occur to them, you can only be so safe, the rest is to let them run around, make friends, and explore everything around them on your watch and guidance. Happy children, are happy learners are healthier than others. They are also more successful when they get older.
Dubai is a great place to bring up your child. They have the chance to meet children from various cultures, have plenty of options to play outdoors and in-doors in safe and secure environment. Falling ill is part of your toddlers developmental process, but with so many resources.

Early Warning Signs for learning disabilities
As a Nursery School in Dubai, we understand the responsibility that comes with being the first stepping stone in a child’s educational needs. This means that as educators we have to ensure that all children are taken across their learning’s through to primary school with as much support and help from their teachers at Little Champions Nursery.
When it comes to learning disabilities, a diagnosis should not be made until grade three. As children learn at such different levels, it is difficult to know if a child prefers to go slow and steady or is in fact experiencing a learning difficulty. Labelling a child as being slow early on, adds pressure on the child and the parent, and may also have a negative impact on his self-esteem and confidence weighing down on their ability to interact normally with other children. Taking this into account; as teachers, we try to ensure that all children receive the right methods of coaching whilst still being able to develop at a rate that is comfortable to them.
This is not to say that we shouldn’t take note of any obstacle they may face early on in preschool, as early intervention will help your child greatly regardless of whether they have a learning disability or not. In the case of many children in a classroom, some will be quick to pick up the alphabet, while other follow suit shortly after and some others will show delayed abilities. But for those children with delayed reactions, it could simply mean they are taking it easy and a stage that they could most likely grow out of by the time they attend primary grades.
Although you may see your child struggle to hold a crayon, have delayed speech, find it difficult to say words clearly, struggle to count to 10, or recognize numbers and letters, they are technically not considered to have an IQ any lower than average, and can sometimes have an even higher IQ than normal. The struggle comes with learning and not necessarily at understanding or holding the information in memory. It is in this light that children with a learning disabilities require close observation and a teaching method that meets his specific needs. One example would be instead of asking your three year old to hold a crayon and write the letter “A”, it would seem more productive if you painted it with him on a large drawing sheet instead. The large letter, and time spent painting it, will help him understand the letter better, and reduce the pressure on him as well.
Noticing the signs early will help your child a great deal, even if this is just a phase. He will have better grasp of what he is learning and the specialized teaching will hurt no one
If you have been worried about your child’s learning abilities talk to his teacher immediately if they have not spoken to you about it yet. Teachers are better equipped and experienced to know if your concerns are in fact something to worry about or not. Additionally, by working together with his teacher, you are setting your child on the right track to gaining a solid educational foundation during his nursery years.
At Little Champions Nursery we strive to give our students the best nursery education possible. We believe in teaming up with parents to ensure that every concern and worry is systematically addressed in a timely fashion. Our facilities and teachers are passionate about giving Dubai children a high-class foundation in pre-kindergarten years of study. How do I get my toddler ready for preschool?
It can be dornting to know that your young child is soon to be attending day care in Dubai or preschhol after spending every minute of their short life with you. Preparing them, and yourself for nursery school is a big step; starting early will be more benefitial for both. There are many activities that you can do with your child to make love the idea of attending a children's nursery in Dubai like Little Champions Nursery.
Your child is used to having you around all the time, and they probably only trust you to give them instructions and keep them safe. During this time, your child would most likely have formed a strong sense of dependency on your presence. They are familiar with you and feel safe. This feeling of safety, is further strengthened if they seldom see or interact with other adults.
You will know how your child will cope in preschool by observing their reaction to strangers like friends or family they have never seen before. If your child becomes fearful, agitated, or uncomfortable, you know you have a lot to do in terms of preparing him for preschool Dubai. It may be good to start a few weeks prior to his intended first day, or a month for extremely shy and reserved children.
Each child is unique, some yearn for unfamiliar faces to make new friends, and others are shy and uncomfortable in the company of people they have never seen before. These children will need help adjusting to a preschool environment, where they will meet new children and teachers whom they have never met before. The first day can be quite overwhelming for young children, and the first step in the whole process would be to drop by for a casual visit with them. A visit every week will familiarize them with the environment, teachers and their peers. Separation anxiety is a common phenomenon experienced by a child on the first day of preschool, and it is not rare for a parent to feel it as well.
Starting 6 Months:
If your child has had many babysitters, the chances are that they are already friendly and comfortable in the company of other adults without your presence. If you have never left them alone with anybody, then it will be advised to organize play dates with other families around the area. An hour each day will allow enough time for your little one to understand the concept of continuation, knowing that you will be coming back for them. Take turns with having the kids over at your place as well.
If you're a first time mom, then it is likely that you are nervous to let anyone other than your family carry your child. However, start allowing people you trust to hold him, carry him and watch him while you leave the room. He may start to cry, or get upset, during this time, pop back into the room, and back out after a few minutes. This practice will reassure him that you have not gone too far. Extend the length of time you spend outside the room, and eventually your son will be ready for Dubai Nursery at Little Champions Nursery

Resolving emotional conflict
How to choose a good preschool?
Modern children are considered smarter. Back in the 50's and all the way up to the 90's little children were seen playing outside, living a carefree life. This is their childhood, and in modern times, high-expectations, and competition is encroaching more and more on the playtime of young children, that they hardly have time to be kids.
Research done in recent times is proving that the more time children spend in preschool the more beneficial it becomes on the long run. But how do you find the balance for your child to achieve, grow and flourish whilst still having time to play, and make childhood memories?
This comes by picking a good Dubai nursery school that is focused in helping children reach specific milestones through play and structured activity.
Preschools began as a necessity, or extension of parent's need, when trends changed and both mom and dad left for work. In recent times, preschool has taken over as an important part of the education system, with kindergartens and primary schools expecting students joining to already be familiar with basics. Knowledge of letters, numbers, colours, animals and home science are necessary not only to get acceptance at a good school, but to make your child's life in school easier.
Although one would expect literacy skills to the prime focus of any pre-school, the British developed Early Years Foundation Stage considers more than just the literacy skills while planning each year's learning structure. Children learn the letters of the alphabet and understand how they go together to form simple words. They also develop their own character, learn social, and problem solving skills, and improve their skill set on self control, physical independence, and emotional well being. But the EYFS system encourages schools to create their own teaching methods based on the EYFS easy learning framework.
The British system enforces great importance on a child's safety and health, providing guidelines, and recommendations to schools to inculcate awareness of these two aspects. This is an important aspect in providing a holistic approach to preschool education as the system has done away with standard curriculums and workbook methods, and has instead introduced learning by child specific interests. The EYFS system strives to maintain progressive learning in balance with playtime.
All developmental aims that fall under the EYFS system is achieved through free and structured play, under the guidelines of the framework. The developmental focus brings together parents, teachers, and children as equal partners in a child's development, ensuring expectations are maintained at a medium rather than the highest percentile.
Children achieve stipulated milestones through their own accord, and not through traditional teaching methods of pen and paper. This ensures their interests for the subject steadily grows over the years.

Nurseries in Jumeirah Dubai
Little Champions Nurseries in Jumeirah Dubai, is a British Nursery and day care centre focused on providing structured childcare in compliance with the EYFS (UK) framework. We are dedicated to keeping children, happy, healthy, safe, and secure while helping them achieve great heights in education and personal growth. We work in partnership with you to help your child reach age appropriate goals in every aspect of their development.
Your child's first five years are the most decisive years that they will ever experience as people. Learning right from wrong, understanding safety and danger, learning to be polite and achieving set expectations and goals are quite tough for someone so young. Positive reinforcements are recommendations made by child psychologists, to keep them focused on learning and growing positively. To help your child understand this theory, it is important to make them feel important in their learning's. These are the years that define them, make them love schoolwork, or hate it. This is a stage when they are forming the basis for their personalities to come. Making sure their environment, caregivers and learning resources are maintained to the highest standards, will inculcate their excitement in each area.
At Little Champions our teachers take time to get know your child and his unique personality, which helps his teacher to formulate a structure that welcomes children from varying backgrounds and cultural norms. The EYFS UK Framework is a flexible framework that takes into consideration cultural requirements and understanding to give the optimum to every child.
This flexibility of the framework makes every day different at nursery. We prefer to teach your child all that they have to learn through play and carefully structured games, to help them learn the importance of good behaviour. Since children are like sponges absorbing everything around them so easily when playing, we strive to keep their days active and interesting. Learning through practice is the fastest and most effective teaching methods in modern times.
At Little Champions Nursery we do not separate children, into good children and bad. We understand that with modern influences, and a variety of technological exposure that children have, that it is quite easy to pick up a habit that does not conform to social norms. To help every child, we believe in learning good character and unlearning bad habits through practice and positive reinforcement, which not helps them to learn but to also understand the true importance of accepted and non-accepted behaviour.
The EYFS British International Nurseries Framework stresses on child involvement, ensuring that children themselves have a say in their learning experiences. We at Little Champions like to include parents as equal partners in your child's development, making sure that your child's and your years as a nursery mom remain fruitful and exciting. Visit us for a tour of our facilities and meet with our teachers who love and live to care for your child.

Illness Policy
When it comes to the health of your child, we at Little Champions Nursery consider it our top priority. As we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (UK) framework strictly; we are required to ensure the health, safety and well being of every child in our care. Furthermore we go the extra mile, to ensure our nursery facilities and policies are designed to protect your little one from danger and illness.
In our stride to keep all children safe and secure we adhere to strict hygiene routines in our British Nursery in an attempt to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. We require the cooperation of parents and staff to minimize disease spread and infection in order to prevent inconveniencing families, staff and most importantly the children who attend Little Champions Nursery.
Young children are prone to falling ill quite often and this is a sign ofstrong immune systems at work. Symptoms such as fever, cold and cough, are good way of knowing that the infection is being fought off. During this time, children require proper rest, and adequate medical care to help their little bodies ward off imminent risks. It is a requirement that any child who is sick, remains at home, away from the possibility of relapse as well as well as to prevent spreading the disease to other children and staff members.
Common colds, require only two days at home, while a flu requires that your daughter is home cared for until two days after the symptoms have disappeared, during the contagious period. For mild single symptoms, like a running nose, slight cough, or a wheeze, we can accept the child and will keep a close watch on them. Should their condition deteriorate whilst at school, we will inform you immediately and a prompt pickup is recommended.
Serious diseases like Hand, Foot, and Mouth, Meningitis, Chicken Pox, Mumps, and Measles, require a minimum of seven days at home from the first symptoms or until the wounds have scabbed over.
For conditions like diarrhoea, temperature, vomiting, food poisoning, a child should remain at home for at least 12 hours after the last episode without the aid of medication.
Little Champions Nursery does have a certified nurse, that watches over children, and is there to administer first aid and take care of emergencies. Our nurse is however, not responsible for administering prescription or over-the-counter drugs of any nature. If your child requires short-term medication like the completion of a course of antibiotics after a flu, we will require a written authorization from the doctor, along with clear instructions on times, and dosages. The medication should be presented in its original packaging along with information sheet.
Long-term medication can be given at school after discussion with our school manager and nurse. We ensure that all medication is well beyond its expiry date and kept in a cool dry place away from children. We at Little Champions Nursery; an International preschool, make it our priority that all children in our care are well looked after. We try our best to minimize the inconvenience to families, to contain the spread of contagious diseases. Please feel to consult our nursery manager or nurse if you have any concerns about the health of your child.

Nursery Teachers Dubai
Little Champions Nursery is dedicated to the education of children aged three months to four years. Our pride is our children, but our strength lies with our teachers who live each day, coming up with new ways and techniques to provide the right foundation that your child needs before they move onto kindergarten.
A nursery teacher’s job description is different from higher grades, as they do not follow a curriculum and cannot consider whole classrooms, but should see each child as separate individuals. Young children are still finding their niche, discovering the world around them, as well as cultivating their own individual personalities. This period is crucial in helping your child have fun while they develop in the various stages of early years learning.
Teachers of nursery, preschool, daycare and early reception classes are considered secondary caregivers who are specifically trained and qualified to help in every aspect of a child’s development; mental, emotional, pre- academic, motor, and social.
Little Champions Nursery teachers plan activities incorporating different skill and academia for each day keeping in line with the guidelines set by Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Teachers use resources to motivate the children’s curiosity, and imagination. Lesson plans are designed to allow children to still feel like they are actually playing, while they absorb vital skills.
Early Years Nurseries are focused on developing social and communication skills of a child, which is the basis that elementary education is founded on. Nursery teachers also take on the role as secondary caregivers, while children are separated from parents during the day. Our goal as teachers is to provide a safe, secure, and fun space for children to be in.
There’s a lot more to being a nursery teacher than just being caregivers. Nursery teachers are responsible for monitoring children in their natural environment. Teachers are responsible for stimulating learning abilities by organizing planned activities based on life skills, pre-math, pre-English, communication, and motor development.
Our teachers are constantly thinking of new ways to use resources to help children in critical thinking, and problem solving. Young children who attend nursery are not given exams, but their progress is systematically monitored. Teachers work closely with parents forming a working relationship to ensure both environments; home and pre-school work together in guiding a child. A teacher’s work schedule does not end when the children leave for home. All our teachers work together to prepare learning tools and activities for the next day. This will entail hours of planning, art work and lesson plans for the next day.
The teachers at Little Champions Nursery keep up-to-date with changes with the curriculum, monitor progress and attend programs to elevate their skills in early years education.
The children of Little Champions Nursery are our pride and joy, and we work to provide the best learning environment for all children. Our teachers are our strength, and they understand the value of providing a high standard in education for young toddlers and children.

Preparing Your Child
Little Champions Nursery believes in a holistic approach to education of young children from the ages of six months to five years of age. We provide full time day care for children of working parents, giving parents the flexibility to work with us as demanded by their schedules. We also have many children who attend our Dubai Nurseries, while their mother is expecting new baby. This is both a joyful time for parents as well as stressful time for older siblings who feel a sense of confusion and even jealousy towards the new addition to the family.
Many parents of young toddlers who are expecting a new bundle of joy, notice the older siblings acting up in fear that they will lose their parents to the new family member. At times, they might start misbehaving at home and at school, in anger and fear. Many children, especially if they attend a nursery, are still getting to know the world and have quite settled into the idea that they are indeed the centre of their parent’s attention. Knowing or seeing somebody else take their place, can be quite challenging for their young minds while they worry and might even show signs of being unhappy at the thought. Preparation and acceptance has to begin long before the new baby is home. With the help of his or her nursery teachers, you will be surprised to know how easy to ease your child in to the role of being an older sibling. Here are some techniques and practices that you could follow to help you and your young toddler in to accepting and loving the new baby.

- Be the first to tell your child, before they over hear it from somebody else. When they find out from you, he or she will be inclined to accept it enthusiastically.
- When you are ready to tell your family and friends, do not hesitate to tell your child’s class teacher as well. She will be able to integrate the idea in learning activities and help your child understand the role changes.
- When picking or shopping for new clothes and baby items take your child with you, let them get involved in selecting some of the stuff.
- If you plan to use some of his or her stuff for the new baby, the cot, prams, or clothes, instead of informing him or her of the fact, ask them if it will be ok, if the new baby uses it too. They will like this, and eagerly say agree.
- Instead of waiting till the baby is born, start your son or daughter in the role of an older sibling early in the pregnancy. Say things like, “Your little brother or sister can’t wait to meet you”, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a little sister to watch over?” Bring them into the mode of “Mommy’s little helper”.
- Include the new baby as a person in all activities, especially bedtime stories.
Nursery Meals for Children
Many parents who send their little children to preschools and Dubai daycare are in fact working parents who are not able to stay at home wacthing over young children. This means you will have to rush yourselves and your little child out the door before rush hour traffic and in time for school.
Packing lunch for young children for a whole day at nursery is not an easy task, considering children are quite fussy and like their food to be fresh and fun. Children often examine what they are about to eat with enthusiasm, and if something they do not like is in their lunch box, they will turn away from it. Regardless of your cultural background, children behave in the same way when it comes to food.
Quite often parents of nursery children have untouched lunch boxes returned to them on claims that the child did not fancy eating it. Class teachers in this instance must find an alternative for those children who haven’t had a snack yet.
Children as young two and even babies already know what they’re going to eat and what they’re going to throw on the floor. It is sometimes easier to feed a king than a child they say. Children are forming opinions on food already, and it is during this time, they they decide what they will eat as adults.
Little Champions Nursery takes a different approach and provide our children with snack prepared right at school. We understand how difficult it is for parents to food early in the morning, making sure its fresh and to their child’s liking. Some children willingly eat everything without complaints. However most children like junk food better, and prefer to stay far away from vegetables as possible. They like foods that taste nice. Preschool children who skip meals become tired and lethagic easily. For this reason Little Champions Nursery in Dubai is a nursery with a difference. We take a holistic appraoch to caring for your child by providing healthy snacks and to children of Little Champions Nursery.
The meals are prepared by our very own Nursery Chef every day in time for the midday break. We try to meet the taste buds of the children while providing them with a nourishing and wholesome meal. Our chef puts great thought in the preparating of the daily meals, to ensure the food presented is easy to pick up, and tastes delicious. Our chef prepars a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, and convenient food loaded with vegetables, proteins and essential minerals for a child’s development.
The benefit of a nursery in Dubai providing snacks to children in school, means that they will always have something they like on offer. Additionally, as the snacks are prepared at school, the food remains fresh and and appetizing until lunch time.
If you are looking for a good Dubai Nursery that will care for your child’s every need, giving you the convenience of dropping them off, without worrying about their meals, Little Champions Nursery is a school you may want to consider. We follow the Bristish curriculum to the highest standard and our facilities are designed for children’s safety and enjoyment. Dubai Nursery
Little Champions Nursery is a Dubai preschool which employs teachers of various nationalities, dedicated to helping your child develop while caring for them. Our Dubai nursery is founded on individuality; allowing children the freedom to explore. Our children are free to play and be active while they are in our care, and the teachers pay attention and design each day’s activities in tune with what a child needs at each stage of development. When they are not at school, children still require the same standard of physical activity to get through the rest of the day.
Here are some great ways you can keep your child active while you continue with routine work at home.
Sleep – growing children need sleep. All good Dubai pre-schools will allocate some part of the day for sleep. A quick power nap mid-day ,rejuvenates a child’s energy levels for the rest of the day. If either one parent is at home with the child, first thing your child needs after spending hours at nursery is some shuteye.
Cooking – many moms prefer to leave small children away from the kitchen and for good reason. However, if your child is over three years old, it is not a bad idea to let them help in small ways. Washing vegetables, stirring dressings and sauces away from the fire, or simply fetching things for you from lower storage cabinets will make them feel important and engrossed in what they do. Besides having them close by, lets you keep an eye on them too.
Reading – reading does not always have to be about children’s books. It can even be the newspapers as long as they are child friendly articles. Try reading the lifestyle or sports section and explain the pictures. If they enjoy it, you will see them independently reading the papers as time progresses.
Housework – No we don’t mean put them to hard labour but children are ever willing to imitate their parents responsibilities. Ask them if they’d like to help. If they feel as though they are given the choice, they will accept. It sure beats, worrying about them being unsupervised in another room. It will also instil good discipline for when they get older.
Play – many parents with two year olds are close to pulling their hair out. This is the age when they’re always up to mischief. Playing with them, will get them to accept you as an equal and appreciate the company. When a strong bond is formed during play, they are more likely to consult with you before they do anything after that.
Get ready for school – many parents say the time after dinner is the worst, when they’re trying to get kids ready for bed and prepare for the next day. Children do not respond well to demands but prefer requests. You could invite your child to help you decide what they’d like to wear to school the next day. This prompts excitement, subtly leading them from one task to the next. You can finish it off, with a bedtime story, or a little TV. Nothing too, interesting or they will refuse to sleep until its over.
Social Milestones in Nursery Dubai
Little Champions Nursery School in Dubai is founded on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) UK and we believe that each child is an individual in a group of young children achieving different milestones at different stages. Our teachers are friendly and passionate about caring for your young ones, knowing that each child deserves personal attention and support when they are away from their parents. We work to help all children reach their developmental milestones in all crucial areas. Our aim is to ensure that all our students achieve success and independence in time for kindergarten and elementary school.
One of the most important aspects of nursery is for children to develop mentally and socially. Nursery provides a young child with opportunities to make friends and understand them. Social and emotional development is important at a young age as it sets the foundation for children to progress on all other fronts. Happy and energetic children are more enthusiastic about learning and adapt much better to expectations of higher grades.
Social and Emotional developmental expectations for three year olds
Depending on whether your child has had previous experiences of interacting with other children, he or she will first begin by playing on the sidelines and attracting attention to the toys they have. They will move closer to friends and begin associative play. This is where they will play next to a peer and make small talk. They will remain separate for a while until they either are accepted by the peer or accept they accept the friend. This happens naturally, as children constantly look for acceptance and friendship.
During this time, they will show some resistance to waiting their turn during play. They will prefer to own their areas and toys. Three year olds will need help resolving conflicts amongst themselves. This is when a teacher will step in, first observing the situation and then resolving conflict with diligence and equality. It is important that both children in a conflict feel like they have won and also know that they need to compromise.
Gradually they will adapt to social norms and understand group dynamics. If the right conditions are present, personal space, materials and supervision are equally distributed; they will thrive and evolve to being a part of playgroup, rather than a lone worrier.
Three year olds will begin cooperating with other children, learning to share and show sympathy in play. Their behaviour may revert to toddler era, if they are unhappy with the set circumstances. They may start pushing, shoving, or thumb sucking to show their disapproval of the situation.
Nursery children will be able to follow simple instructions from teachers and caregivers. They will constantly look for acceptance and appreciation for good behaviour and achievement. The newfound confidence may lead them to wonder off on their own however, and it is at this point that careful supervision is necessary. Your three year old, will want to be treated as an adult at this stage, and will certainly attempt adult gestures and responsibilities. They may insist on going to the washroom by themselves.
Finally, they will express themselves more openly, showing emotions like fear, affection, happiness and disapproval to their caregivers.
The teachers and caregivers at Little Champions Nursery are attentive to all children and are able and qualified to spot each child’s progress in every stage. We believe in offering and respecting the different needs, while simultaneously ensuring that all children are happy and developing together. How Physical activity helps Children
As a parent, you are constantly worried about your child reaching the stipulated milestones. There are numerous lists of accomplishments for children, and it almost seems impossible to keep track of them all. Each child is different and will progress independent of statistics and general expectations. The most important development aspect for any child is to ensure they have plenty of physical activity or an area safe and large enough to play in. Children under the age of seven learn by being physically active driven by curiosity.
There is plenty of time for mental and emotional development as children have the rest of their school life to achieve those goals. Physical growth and development would take prominence over everything else, from day-care through nursery. From the moment they are born, they are exercising muscles and preparing themselves for the world around them. Muscles strengthening play a big role in how your child develops and forms the basis for other aspects.
Muscle development takes place more subtlety during playtime, which for most parents is every waking hour. Children are full of energy due to their high nutritional diet and the occasional consumption of junk food and chocolates. Too much chocolates and you will have a child with so much energy, that at times, its hard to keep up with them. Children need to exhaust energy during the day, so they are able to sleep through the night, where most of the re-building and physical growth takes place. Hyperactive children find it difficult to fall asleep, and hence wake up in the morning, feeling tired. Tired children, face difficulty in keeping up with school and sometimes fall asleep during school hours. Nursery activity is designed in a way to include naptime for young children. This helps them rejuvenate for the second half of the day at pre-school.
Dubai Pre-school children are constantly at work, discovering their body and things it can do. He or she may be seen jumping over two or three steps and eventually the number of steps they jump over will exceed their own expectations. Pre-schools and nurseries use toys like tool kits, monkey bar, slides, and swings to help your children develop motor skills. Infants and toddlers are given things like wooden or plastic hammers and noisemakers that influences them to use their arms, fingers and exercise their eye muscles.
Children need little or no stimulation to keep moving. Infact they are seen as being restless and fidgety if they aren’t allowed the space and freedom to run and play. Toddlers will reach and grab onto things and use them as support to take a first step. Children, will first sit their way down the stairs or require adult support, however, with stronger leg muscles and confidence they will start walking and then running in both directions. A three year old may struggle to hold a pencil or crayon while attending nursery, however by aged six or seven, he or she, holding a pencil will come naturally to them
The Dubai Nursery you pick for your child should incorporate interesting methods and tools to allow each child the freedom to run around and play, developing healthy motor skills while progressing in emotional, intellectual, and mental aspects. Little Champions Nursery ensures all of these methods and tools are available to your child, so that they are happy to learn and develop in their own time.

Tips for Parents at Home
The key to raising children in Dubai who are well-rounded and accepted into society as they grow up, is to institute a strong foundational support system encompassing all aspects of a child’s developmental needs. The aspects that require focus from a parent would be mental, emotional, and intellectual traits of your child. The goal should be to ensure your child feels capable and confident amongst their peers in a Dubai Nursery. It is the learning process, that begins before attending a nursery school in Dubai that sets the stage for a successful learning experience in a multicultural society.
In order to augment your child’s interests and skills in learning, parents need to work together as a single entity in their child’s life, showing consistency, dedication, and patience.
All children learn by observation, having said this, for children to be well-rounded, it is not only important that parents coach and help but also teach by example.
If you take the instance where you would like your child to have fruits, it will be impossible to convince them if the parents themselves do not follow suit. Parents, who do not like fruits themselves, find it difficult to encourage their own kids to do so. Here are four principals that parents can follow at home to ensure that your child is happy and ready to take on the world of learning and developing.
Widen Your Child’s Horizons and Opportunities
Schools are great for children to develop, but are restricted in individual progress. Each child is born with a great number of special skills and abilities that needs discovering.
Activities like father-son fishing, or mommy-and- me, painting or sewing or simply just baking cup cakes can get your child interested in exploring other activities on their own. By doing this they discover themselves through curiosity and interest.
Give Plenty of Encouragement and Reward
It is very common to hear your child say; “Look at what I did” or “Mommy can I have that…”. These statements should be, responded to, with positive remarks to keep your child interested in what they do. It is hard sometimes for parents to keep up with the constant demands from children, due to financial or time constraints. However, words of encouragement should never be limited and even if your child wants you to buy them something or be able to take part in activity, figure out what will be most beneficial to their progress and set a timeline for them to achieve certain goals or milestones. Upon reaching them, one of their requests, which are within your limits, can be granted. This will keep your child enthusiastic and goal oriented from early on. The reward can be as simple as a visit to the amusement park.
Applaud and Praise Efforts
A year-end school grade should never define who your child is to you. It is only a ranking of them when compared to the 19 or so other children in the classroom. It is important that your child’s efforts are equally praised along with his or her achievements, regardless of the grades they obtain at school. Each one is different with different rates and levels of progress, no child should be compared to the standard of any other child that they may know. A child whose mind is fixed on either a positive mindset or a negative mindset, is less likely to continue to achieve bigger goals than those with a growth-mind-set.
Respect Different Learning Styles
Each child establishes his or her unique learning methods based on the strength of their specific intelligence. According to Harvard researcher Howard Gardner, there are 8 unique ways that children learn. Some are better at learning with visual stimulants and some do better with listening. Some others will prefer to write repeatedly while others like to recite out loud. It is important to understand his or her requirements for work at home. For example when trying to teach your child numbers, for a visual learner using flash cards and educational programs will help. However, for those children with auditory intelligence, a nursery rhyme or song will help them achieve this milestone.
Spend Time Together as a Family
A happy child comes from a happy home. A happy child will also be more interested in learning than one who is not. Watching movies, eating, and playing together is important to inculcate a sense of structure in the family unit. It allows your child the opportunity to ask questions and learn at given time. Most important of all, give out lots of hugs and kisses, this will specifically make them feel loved and grow up to be compassionate adults.

Nursery Education Milestones Dubai
Between the ages of three months – two years children will attend a day centre in Dubai. When a child reaches the age of two, they will begin their primary nursery education, where they will learn social and emotional skills, while making some progress on the intellectual front. When attending nurseries, children reach physical, emotional, mental and intellectual milestones. There is no standard or set curriculum and develop these skills through play and practical activities set within the boundaries of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Toddlers and young children will not be able to read and write, however, they will develop motor, social, and intellectual skills that will take them forward to the next stage of learning when they attend junior school.
Pre-schoolers are on a mission to establish their own individual personalities. They are eager to learn about everything they encounter. Children aged between two and four learn by touching, tasting, listening, and smelling all that they come across. This is the time when they form certain fears towards unfamiliar objects and people. Fears are usually passing phases; little children will constantly overcome old ones and form new ones as they progress. For example when a toddler sees a dog for the first time, some may approach it enthusiastically and others may shy away from it. However, curiosity and reassurance from an adult will help them across.
Nursery going children absorb everything they see and hear from their environment. This is the time when they will pick up some bad habits and language. A pre-schoolers mind is still primitive and they are not able to understand a broad spectrum of good and bad behaviour. Instead, it is important to handle every situation independently with care. Parents and adults in the child’s life at this stage, should set standard guidelines and rules to follow. It is important to be clear during this time, and words like “Yes” and “No” are better suited than “Maybe”, or not saying anything at all. Toddlers require a firm foundation for accepted behaviour and language. It is important that children be handled with compassion and authority. It is not good practice to raise your voice while speaking to a toddler, as this will create fear in their minds preventing healthy emotional growth.
Parents will notice significant changes in children who attend nursery as they learn and evolve at high rates. They will begin climbing furniture, riding a tricycle, playing with building blocks and puzzles and draw and paint on any canvass they can find. They will gain a basic understanding of numbers and alphabets, although they may not be able to put pen to paper yet. They will show interest in music and dance, idolize cartoon characters and real life people. They will be boastful of their accomplishments and constantly need applause from the adults they meet. Emotionally, they will cry over many things, and this normal and should be handled diligently. Two year olds will cry over friends leaving for the day, to toys breaking and some will even cry when asked to eat vegetables. It is vital that every situation is used as a tool to instil new knowledge.

Children’s Nursery in Dubai
It can be tornting to know that your little will be attending school and preparing them and yourself for the big leap in life can start early. There are many activities that you can do with your child to ease them into the first day at a children’s nursery in Dubai.
Upto the age of three, your child will have you around them all the time, forming a strong sense of dependency to you based on familiarity and safety. This dependency is further, reinforced if the toddler is an only child. However, when it comes time to attend pre-school in Dubai, it takes days or weeks, for children to adjust.
Each child is unique, some crave the company of unfamiliar faces like friends and relatives, and others are shy and reserved, uncomfortable in the company of strangers and other children. There are many activities that parents can and should start early on with the toddler to avoid the feeling of separation anxiety by both mother and child when preschool begins.
Starting 6 Months:
Play dates: Letting your baby be with other adults/caregivers and children will mould them to being comfortable in different environments. During these play dates, it will be easy to teach the concept of sharing, by letting them swap their toys with other babies.
Carrying: It is completely understandable when some moms, prefer to carry their toddler themselves throughout the day without asking for help. It would be advisable to let other members in the family or friends, take turns so that your toddler will better accept the safety of other individuals.
Independence: It is important that your baby is able to be by themselves for short periods and play without adult supervision. Leaving your baby in the safety of a playpen for short durations throughout the day, will help them understand continuity; that you will be back shortly, while building their own independence.
12 Months and Beyond:
Independent eating: Eating independently is seen as natural trait in some children as early as 12 months and some require a small amount of guidance. Although, by the time a child reaches the age of three, will be able to eat on their own, some children like to have their mothers feed them till the age of 10. Encouraging words and small rewards will help your toddler along with this trait.
Sharing: During these months, toddlers love to pick up many objects and examine them individually; it is easy to teach sharing, during this time. Simple acts of allowing them to swap their toys with other children will help them understand this. This will help on the long run, when they attend preschool and have to play in groups with other children.
Cleaning up: When your toddler begins walking, they will have toys spread across the floor at home. It is a good time to begin the activity of cleaning at the end of the day by asking them to help you replace the toys on the floor back in the toy box.
Potty Training: This is an important development for any toddler and potty training can begin as early as 18 months, however each child needs to be ready for this on their own. A mom can begin by asking the toddler to let them know when they want to go. Eventually, they will begin informing you in time and gradually handle it themselves. It is critical to buy the right equipment to make them feel safe.
Whether you child is getting ready for day-care or is a kindergarten starter in Dubai, following through with these basic activities at home will ensure your child is comfortable and has a great first day of school.

Tips to Disciplining your Child
To raise our little champions we use a few techniques that should be employed by any care giver and any parent, spiced up with a tiny professional edge to ensure that your child gets a little extra during their stay with us at Little Champions Nursery Dubai. Here are some tricky tips that you as a parent can incorporate when it comes to disciplining your child; the effective way! Disciplining a child is understandably one of the most controversial topics when it comes to parenting today, mainly because disciplining techniques tend to vary globally. Here are some psychologically approved tips that are relevant to all for your knowhow.
Keeping a child engaged is important. Especially boisterous child. In a nursery or any school for that matter there will always be a boisterous child that bullies others. The best tactic for bullies tends to be to involve the child in another activity when noticed by an adult so that the child receives attention while being able to focus on something else other than being a bully.
Children know when they are doing something wrong after a certain age and it is up to the care giver to inculcate positive behavior through positive reinforcements. Another good trick is to implore the child to make a ‘different choice’. Making children feel like they have the power to make a change by changing their decision has proven to work splendidly well and when you find a child acting up and being unfriendly or cruel to another, asking them to make a different choice because what they are doing is wrong can go a long way. If they don’t make the right choice then taking away a privilege could help hit the spot. Reducing TV time or another activity that your child enjoys until they adapt to good behavioral techniques is an ideal technique. This way you child knows that his actions will have negative consequences and will keep away from it for their benefit.
Many adults seem to love to tell children what is right and what is wrong without providing the child with an explanation as to why something should be so while others are good to be avoided. Have a talk with your child; take the time to explain why what they are doing is wrong and why they should not do it again for better results.
Sometimes a little guilt goes a long way. For example if your child is not listening to you and is being disruptive, gently make him or her feel bad about her actions by pointing out the negative consequences that that action may have on others.
When advising or disciplining your child it is important to not hover over them and make them feel intimidated. Get down on your knees or both of you’ll take a seat first so that you can have a proper heart to heart with your child in a way where he or she will truly understand the message that you are trying to convey without feeling fear but respect.
We at the Little Champions Nursery Dubai are learned in ways of how exactly to handle any type of child and specialize in giving all our little darlings the special undivided attention that they require in order to assist them in going a long way so don’t hesitate to come to us if you require proper caregivers in Dubai for your child.

Little Champions Nursery Dubai
The Little Champions Nursery in Dubai are strong believers of encouraging children to step out of their comfort zones and constantly try new things in order to develop existing and yet-to-be discovered potential within them. Human beings are prone to establishing a foothold on their strengths and weaknesses most often at a very young age. Limiting a child when it comes to freedom of expression through play and even work may result in a stunted growth process in discovering any hidden talents within them. We at the Little Champions Nursery Dubai take this proven notion to heart and ensure that all our activities are designed to invoke the talents within your precious little ones whole giving them a creative platform of expression for a vast array of preferences through our expertly designed curriculum.
The most fulfilling feeling of being an early educator is providing your child with a platform to express themselves openly and without any hint of judgment. Your children’s emotional health and wellbeing is crucial to us on a primary level and we facilitate many creative outlets that enable freedom of expression for this specific reason.
The first step in providing a creative outlet for your child is listening to all of them on an individualistic level and act upon their preferences. Some little ones prefer dance, others singing, acting, painting etc and we make sure that we have everything readily available in order to outfit your child with an arena to shine. We also take to note the many multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and social experiences of your child and use this information to customize our various creative tools available for them.
Encouraging your children to make their own choices is a crucial part of self-development in early education. We do this by focusing more on the process than the end result. Constant encouragement and praise help nurture little minds and when executed correctly the end result is always a success. Our nursery also encourages role playing and physical activities that are designed to improve and nurture the mental and physical development of your child on a whole new level. Thinking and problem solving are two important features that are developed through early education and we facilitate this process in the most stimulating way possible while customizing even regular lesson plans to suit your child’s drive.
We thrive on getting an insight in to your child’s mind by nurturing your children’s emotional health and wellbeing. It is during the early years learning that children get a stronghold on whom they really are and we encourage them to work towards their full potential through freedom of expression. We gain most of our insight on the mental and physical development of your child through observation techniques. We make sure that we know each and every child on an individual note especially during play-time in order to facilitate them with what they truly desire and guide them in the right direction. With being an early educator comes great responsibility; a task that we are more than able to handle and have done so for many years and will do in time to come.
